Obesity is measured by BMI, but it has limitations. Body composition analysis is more accurate but costly. There are three types of fat cells: white, brown, and beige. Beige fat burns energy, traditionally using UCP1. A new type of beige fat uses a “Sisyphus mechanism” to burn energy without UCP1. It’s more common and linked to better health.
